This microlot comes from a community called Nasa Wesx, Gaitania village which is located in the Planadas municipality in the department of Tolima in Colombia. Planadas has a story that contributes to the charm of their people and of the department itself. It was a region in which political prisoners were sheltered from the Liberal party. Over time both parties. Liberals and Conservadores, established a good relationship consequently leading to the famous kindness of people from Planaes to be well/known throughout the country.Nasa Wesx community works towards the quality and conservation of the environment and has managed to certify all of their coffees as organic.This Caturra lot was fermented in a low-oxygen environment for 50 hours. After fermentation is completed coffee is placed to sundry on raised beds in temperature controlled conditions until the ideal moisture content is achieved. Longer fermentation in a controlled environment allows to bring out the juicy flavour of red grape with a rum like mouthfeel and incredible sweetness.
