Finca El Mirador, owned and managed by Luis Angel Garcia Guevara and his family, the farm located in Gracias a Dios, Lonya Grande, Amazonas. The farm’s name, “El Mirador,” is inspired by its stunning location, overlooking the valley the town of El Palto is located. El Palto is well-known for its pioneering role in coffee production in North of Perú. The farm evolve over five hectares at an altitude of 1,850 meters above sea level. It holds certifications from Rainforest, UTZ, CP and Volcafe Excellence, reflecting its commitment to sustainable and high-quality coffee production. 

The coffee varieties grown at Finca El Mirador include Bourbon, Castillo, Catimor, Marsellesa, Limani, and Geisha. The harvest period extends from May to October. Luis Angel’s journey into coffee farming began at a young age, learning the value of organic coffee production from his grandparents. His connection to the farm was solidified when he got engaged to his wife, further embedding him in the family tradition of coffee cultivation. 

The farm places a strong emphasis on fermentation and drying processes, which are crucial for ensuring the high quality of their coffee. Luis Angel is currently attending a cupping workshop to deepen his understanding of his production. Finca El Mirador stands out for its well-organized planting, agroforestry approach, and fully equipped processing area, which includes a honey water well, a tank-tub, and multiple dryers. The farm also has a comprehensive agronomic plan and provides support to neighbouring farmers through courses and demonstration in agronomic techniques to improve production in the area.
