And as one the country's most valuable crops, its production of high-quality, high-altitude coffees works in tandem with a collective societal effort to raise people out of poverty. Koakaka’s coffee is grown at the edge of the Nyungwe rainforest, a protected natural reserve and green lung of the region. With over two decades of experience, Koakaka produces a vibrant cup profile that has resulted in great acclaim, including in 2016 when Koakaka coffee was recognised by RWASHOSCCO as the best coffee in the country.
